Grace’s Corner – Journal Entry 1

Hey there! I’m Grace and I’m excited to be able to share my interning experiences at Generator Design. As I transition from St. Clair College student to industry intern, I am happy to be gaining experience from an amazing team. I have worked on various projects throughout my time here from print to social media to motion graphics. I can say that working in the industry is making me grow quickly as a designer!

The Generator Design team have been great in welcoming me and guiding me when I need help—and that I am so thankful for! Mando the office dog has been especially welcoming as he often visits me to see what I’m working on (conversely, what I am eating). He is the cutest coworker and I am happy to pet him whenever he stops by.

St. Clair College has given me a solid foundation of skills and design thinking for entering the graphic design industry. But, it is through my time here at Generator Design that I have learned about industry practices and standards. It has been valuable to get a feel for what a design industry environment feels like; I am learning new things every day!

My time at Generator has strengthened my love for design as I progress as a graphic designer and pursue my dream career. I am looking forward to where this journey will take me!
