Inktober 2017
What’s Inktober? Created by illustrator Jake Parker, Inktober is a call to action for artists to draw one ink illustration a day in October. Officially, the challenges are prompted by a word for each day to inspire artists with a theme.
Our team set out to complete (almost) every drawing challenge for the month. The daily prompt kept us in creative check, but we applied another requirement to the mix: each drawing had to include the Generator logo. Some stayed traditional with pen and marker ink, and at least one of us broke the ink-only rule by mixing media (hint: Jessica doesn’t like rules), but the end results demonstrated the varied illustrative capabilities of our team.
We divided up the daily challenges and set to work. Every completed illustration was shared across our social media pages with the #Inktober and #Inktober2017 tags. We were thrilled to see the engagement they garnered with likes, shares and retweets. Plus, to see all the wonderful creations from artists across the globe was mind blowing! We certainly grew more inspired by the day to put our spin on the Generator logo, try out new techniques, and to push ourselves to develop as illustrators.
